Facebook has launched its first drone called “Aquila”. The drone will be sent to provide internet access to remote areas that are unable to connect to internet.
The drone will hope to bring more people together and offer others the opportunity to use sites like Facebook, whereas before they may have been previously restricted by cost or infrastructure.
Set to be tested this year, the drone will operate at a height between 60,000 ft and 90,000 ft in a mission to connect everyone together. The operation of the drone has been well thought out with different flying heights to be set at different times of day/ night to help conserve energy.
