As you know, I have been banging on about the importance of your website being responsive because Google rank responsive websites way higher than those that aren’t and now there is another huge reason why your website needs to be mobile responsive and it involves your Facebook advertising campaigns.
Firstly, lets have a quick reminder of some stats on Facebook and mobile devices:
- 1.442 Billion people use Facebook on their mobile monthly
- 934 Million people use Facebook on their mobile daily
- 823 Million people on a monthly basis use Facebook on their mobile only
- 47% people login to Facebook using just their mobile
So a scary amount of people use Facebook through their mobile and this is without including tablets or ipads!

A developing trend we have observed with Facebook advertising campaigns, is that the vast majority of people who have engaged with our adverts, whether it be liking, commenting or clicking to the website, have been doing so using a mobile device.
If you are creating your own adverts, you have the option of putting your advert in a mobile news feed which is great, but what will effect the campaign is whether or not your website or landing page that the advert is linked to is mobile responsive, because if it isn’t then the majority of your traffic generated will be clicking off your website because it is too difficult to navigate through a mobile device. For the bulk of our clients we have created unique landing pages that are responsive, so that the users have a page that works efficiently on mobile which leads to more sales and conversions.
For example, our development team here designed Exmouth Chamber’s website and made it responsive and their recent advertising campaign through Facebook has performed brilliantly because 88% of people who have clicked on the site has done through their mobile.
As you can see from the graph, very few desktop users are clicking on the advert and over 6,600 more people have seen the advert on their mobile, which means the vast majority of people that are going to click your link are going to be doing so through their mobile device and if the page that they land of isn’t mobile responsive, it is very unlikely that they will turn into a conversion.
Don’t panic though, because we can create specific landing pages for your online advertising campaigns to increase the chances of getting conversions because they will be mobile responsive.
