5 Ways to Increase your Ecommerce this Christmas

Trawling the high street on a busy Saturday especially in the lead up to Christmas can be enough to make anyone wish Christmas was cancelled, thankfully it can now be a distant memory as more and more people are turning to the web to do their Christmas shopping. Give your company that special edge and fend off any competition by following these 5 tips that will increase your ecommerce this Christmas.

1. Make Christmas Present suggestions:

It’s not very often that people like to be told what to do or what to buy… however when it comes down to Christmas present inspiration we all seek all the help we can get. So use this power and promote items either on your website or through social media channels to give customers that guidance they are seeking. Create specific content that gives your products their own profiles providing customers information on who the items are best for, what they do and why they should buy it and introduce your customers to products they might otherwise have missed.

If you want to boost your sales even more then why not use your knowledge of your products and suggest products that complement each other. This could be achieved by creating gift sets that will hopefully increase your sales and units per transaction as customers are encouraged to buy additional products that they might not have otherwise heard of.

 2. Make your sale a wrap and offer gift wrapping services:

By offering a gift wrap service you are saving your customers precious time and offering something that is extremely valued particularly in the Christmas period. Again give your customers a helping hand and offer extra “add ons” like gift wrapping and make your business more attractive than another business offering a similar product without the gift wrapping option.

3. Be Prepared:

Do your research and look out for current trends and best seller items, then make sure you have enough of these items in stock so that you don’t leave any customers disappointed and don’t miss out on that additional sale.

 4. Make your Return policies clear:

It’s almost guaranteed that you are going to have to return at least one item you have either bought or received this Christmas and knowing your return rights will give you a head start. Therefore as a business it is vitally important to make your returns policy crystal clear. If you are offering a gift receipt system then make sure you tell your customers, something as simple as this can make the difference between a sale and a fail particularly in cases where customers are unsure on the present they are buying. As everybody loves a little help in hand, Christmas customers will also see this act as your business going the extra mile, again making your company more attractive.

5. Keep your customers updated:

Winter is approaching and Britain’s fear of snow and disruptive weather sweeps the nation once again. We all know that the tiniest bit of snow fall can cause huge problems on Britain’s roads and in periods like this it is likely that your delivery process could be affected. Keep your customers updated and let them know if your deliveries are likely to be delayed to prevent customers worrying that their products have been lost in the post and to minimise the amount of queries you will receive asking where items are.

Make the most of this shopping season and follow these simple ecommerce Christmas tips to increase those all-important Christmas Sales.
