I have recently been asked to take responsibility for updating the WNW Design Blog daily. As there are endless possibilities of what I could blog about, I thought it would be a good idea to create a schedule so that I can plan ahead and also track what I have already posted.
It might seem very basic but firstly I put pen to paper and decided to assign a topic for each day, for example I decided that on Monday I was primarily going to blog about using social media, Tuesday about Ecommerce and so on. By doing this I will be able to keep some routine and order and hopefully generate some in-depth knowledge on each of my chosen topics.
Using Excel I have created a document that will allow me to keep track of what I am posting and what day I have posted them on. For my own benefit I have colour co-ordinated each of the topics so I can easily see if I am blogging about each topic as evenly as possible.
So if you are responsible for blogging daily , here are some tips that you might find useful:
- Assign a topic for each day of the week (allow room for “other” unplanned blogs)
- Schedule / Track your postings using Excel or a table in Word
- Colour co-ordinate each topic so that you can easily see what is going on
