We take you through the basics to developing your brand and strategy using digital marketing as a platform to market your business.
Work out who you are
Before you look at developing your business, you first need to define who you are as a brand – who are you and what do you stand for? You need to make yourself stand out from the crowd.
Know your competition
It is important to be aware of what your competitors are doing, and if you like something they’re doing then you could try and adapt it to suit you – but don’t copy it! It is important to be unique as this will help you to stand out to potential clients.
Set yourself goals
Work out where you want to be, and set realistic goals to get there – don’t be afraid to challenge yourself, but they have to be achievable or they won’t come to fruition. Try using the SMART acronym – Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Timely – to set objectives to help you achieve these goals. You can read more about SMART objectives here
Plan your strategy
How are you are going to achieve your goals? What is it that you need to do in order to do so? This is also known as your strategy. Make this as involved as possible to maximise your goals.

Monitor and evaluate
By keeping track of your digital marketing you can determine what works for the development of the business, and what doesn’t. You can then adjust and adapt to this to make sure everything is working as well as it can for you and your business. You can track click-through and conversion rates and gain valuable insights using Google Analytics
