We recently launched the new website for Portreath Garden Machinery, an independent family-run garden machinery company based in Redruth.
The main aim of this redesign was to update the design of the old website, adding a more modern and refreshed look.
Within this modern design was the opportunity to make the site easier for any new customers to navigate and find exactly what they’re after.
Before, the website was small, and it wasn’t easy to distinguish product categories from one another.
Now, the website contains a drop-down menu of the different product categories and is further split into brands beneath this to make sure users know they’re in the right place.
The WNW development team conversed with the team from Portreath to ensure all their needs were met, whilst also imparting some of our knowledge of usability to really encourage customers to engage with the new website.
Previously, the site was lacking valuable ‘call-to-action’ buttons that encourage people to convert online, these were added in the new site to allow for visitors to contact the company.
More and more people are now browsing on their phones, which means it is crucial to have a mobile responsive website. This is one of the main functions we added to the Portreath site to enhance mobile browsing.
Finally, we made the site easier to add more, fresher content into. Should the Portreath team receive a new load of stock, they are able to input this into the website themselves and do not have to rely on developers to get their products uploaded on time.
